Thank You and Goodnight

Greetings friends and supporters of the West County Film Society and Festival,

The past two years have been a rewarding challenge. We want to thank all of you for your time, support and belief in us - you are the proof that West County/Sebastopol is the perfect home for ambitious independent film!

Unfortunately, times are hard (as I'm sure every last one of you has experienced) and the WCFS is feeling the strain of the financial crunch.

It is because of this (as well as some personal reasons) that we have chosen to take a hiatus from the festival. We are uncertain at this time if this will be a temporary time away (perhaps just a year or two) or our final goodbye. In our "time off" we will still be working closely with other local groups (like the Occidental Center for the Arts). We also plan on working closely with Analy High School to provide resources to the budget-strapped ROP Video classes.

In May we are planning a volunteer appreciation party for all the volunteers that helped out at the 2008 festival. Sonya will soon be contacting all volunteers directly with more details about the event.
